demain à 18h à Carré d’Art où nous vous détaillerons un peu plus le programme.
Nous espérons aussi vous voir au buffet qui clôturera cette cérémonie et qui vous est réservé. C’est l’occasion d’échanger avec vous dans le superbe décor du Grand Hall devant la magnifique Maison Carrée illuminée.
Mais surtout, nous comptons vous voir au Sémaphore à 20h45 pour le film d’ouverture, Hard Truths. C’est le dernier film de Mike Leigh, invité du 17°festival, Palme d’Or à Cannes pour Secrets & Lies et qui retrouve pour Hard Truths son actrice, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, avec qui il n’avait plus tourné depuis.
Elle est extraordinaire dans ce rôle de Tatie Danielle façon Leigh : Marianne Jean-Baptiste est exceptionnelle. The Gardian. Ca ne vous suffit pas ? C’est une leçon de cinéma. Positif. Et en plus, vous serez parmi les premiers à le voir puisque c’est une avant-première, la première des sept avant- premières de cette édition. Donc, pas d’excuses. Si vous ne venez pas, on vous parle plus !

Well, here we are – the 28 th festival starts tomorrow! We are so looking forward to seeing you again and are counting on you for 10 days of great viewing.
You’re invited to the festival’s opening ceremony tomorrow at the Carré d’Art at 6.00pm, where we will give you more details about the programme.
We also hope to welcome you to the buffet following the opening ceremony. Exclusively for EBIS members only, it’s a great opportunity to get together in the superb setting of the Grand Hall in front of the magnificently illuminated Maison Carrée.
We also hope to see you at the Sémaphore at 8.45pm for the festival’s opening film, Hard Truths (2024). This is the latest film by Mike Leigh, our guest at the 17th festival and winner of the Palme d’Or at Cannes for Secrets & Lies (1996). With Hard Truths he’s reunited with actress Marianne Jean-Baptiste, with whom he hasn’t worked since 1996.
She is extraordinary in this role of Tatie Danielle in true Leigh style: “Marianne Jean-Baptiste is exceptional”, says the Guardian. Not enough for you? “It’s a lesson in cinema”. So there you have it! What’s more, you’ll be among the first to see it as it hasn’t been released in France yet – it’s just one of seven previews at this year’s festival!
